【５０】Keisei-Saimin（経世済民）

More people, as much as possible, will be happy!

The concept of “economy” originated from Britain and France in an era of the Industrial-Revolution. This scholar made the rich more rich.
In the mid-19 century, Marxism asserted that capital monopolizes profit and labor should take the profit even by force. In 1917 the Soviet Union was built (the Russian Revolution). However, it became a dictatorship. Its satellite states were estranged from it (Especially East-West Germany united in 1990). The Soviet Union itself collapsed in 1991.
Losing competitor has converted Capitalism into “Neo-Liberalism” and “Globalism”. Under these the rich are rocketedly richer. On the other hand, the “99%” people have less and less. These governments are no more for the (all) people, but for the rich people. The hopeless gap between the rich and the poor amplifies their unstable social conditions and the regional disputes.

Japanese word “経済(Keizai)” is not strictly “economy”.
Keizai was named by Fukuzawa Yukichi in the Meiji Era. Keizai（経済） is formed the word “Keisei-Saimin（経世済民）”. The Goal of Keisei-Saimin is the society where more people, as much as possible, will be happy. And it were the government, which endeavors after Keisei-Saimin.
